Mark and Debi Higson are a happy couple. They shifted to New Zealand with their two daughters nearly 2 years ago and have fallen in love with the country – in fact, they feel so comfortable they think they must have been Kiwis in their past lives.

And the couple’s business – The Trade Team – is going exceptionally well too, which means  Debi and Mark can be confident they have the right formula for providing the right home maintenance solution for the right price.

A qualified electrician since 1982, Mark established his own business in 1988, and also worked as a corporate manager in the building trade. Debi is also from a customer service background and she and Mark are both driven to provide top service for their clients.

“We’re focused on our customers needs,” says Mark. “We keep our promises and many of our customers are astounded and delighted when that happens; to us it’s just good business practice.”

Mark has gathered a core of competent trades people around him, such as builders, plumbers, tilers and gib stoppers – all the trades required to complete a renovation on time and on budget.

“We’ll do anything from putting up shelves to building an extension,” says Mark. “Renovations are our specialty, especially bathrooms. Customers often aren’t sure how much a renovation or extension will cost, so we’ll produce a written quote, itemising all work required and the fixed cost. Then customers have a clear insight into the total costs and can make adjustments accordingly.”
